And Here is the Rest of the Story, the O,V, E Part

A couple of days ago I showed you my L on a Shelf.  Well today I finished up the rest of the the word.  I used my “Bird Cage” cutting files to finish up my Valentine home decor project.  I used paper from the Die Cuts with a View Be Mine stack, Tattered Angel silver glitter mist, chalk, my heart Cuttlebug embossing folder and a little embroidery thread for the bows.  I love a good DCWV paper stack because you don’t have to worry about selecting papers and hoping the colors go together.

L is for the way you look at me . . .

O is for the only one I see . . .

V is very, very extraordinary . . .

The cutting files are found in the Adams Acres Store.  The Bird Cage collection.  The cutting files are available in SVG, PDF, MTC and SCAL.

L on a Shelf

Well we have all hear of “Elf on a Shelf,” but today I am talking about “L  on a Shelf.”  Let the Valentine decorating begin.  I made a run to the local Dollar Tree today and came back with a few sacks full of frames, flowers, glass vases, potpourri and some of the pretty glass fillers.  I have this one shelf on my built in bookcase that I have designated as the holiday shelf.  Each holiday it is getting some new holiday foo foo.  This month I have it in my head to transform some white photo frames into my main attraction.

L on a Shelf

So here we go.  The first letter I worked on is the letter “L” of course.  I took papers from the Die Cuts with a View  Be Mine collection.  I embossed the based page with a heart Cuttlebug Folder.  The cutting files for the L the heart and the border are FREEBIES and you will find them below ready for download.  The frame the heart and the L all received a spritz of Tattered Angel.  The Black Letter received silver and the frame and the heart received pink.  I looped embroidery thread together tied it with another thread and cut the edges to fit.  I attached the thread with a silver brad.  Everything was popped into my dollar store frame and put on the shelf.

L cutting files are found in the Adams Acres Store

Please download the cutting files below and check back as I will be sharing the O, V, and E in the next few days.  The files are in MTC, PDF, PNG, SCAL AND SVG formats.

Woodland Bunny Layout

Today I bring you an Woodland Bunny Layout for Easter.  This collection includes butterflies, Easter Eggs, a very intricate tree, a bunny with a basket a basket and a Easter 2011 title.  The Woodland Bunny Layout Files are packaged in one set and available in the store.  For stopping by today I am making the basket available for free.  Log in on the left and scroll down to access the file.

The Woodland Bunny Collection is available at the DieCut Designer Store.

I am in love with this layout.  I used the following elements to make this 2 page layout.

1.  Die Cuts with A View.  I used 2 papers from the Rustic Collection.  I couldn’t find it online but I think Old World has many of the same colors and designs.

2.  I used Pebbles Chalk basics to highlight all the die cut elements.  If you don’t the pieces just sort of sit there on the page.  When you chalk the edges in something a little darker they really pop off the page.  I chalked the brown in black and the pink in a darker pink tone.

3.  Ribbon.  I attached ribbon to the photo sections so the photo could slide under the ribbon.  The ribbon is only taped on the back of the photo area.

4.  The buttons are attached to the ribbon so that the picture can slide in.  The pictures are 4X6 and 3X5 sizes.  The larger picture area has room for journaling.

5.  The tree and the basket are sprayed with Glimmer Mist in Black Magic.  The Glimmer Mist add a lot of texture to the basket and the tree.  I swabbed the basket in a hatch pattern after spraying to give the basket a touch of weave.

The tree and the bunny are very neat and intricate.  When you cut these elements as well as the butterfly be sure the blade is sharp and the pressure is significant enough to cut through the first time.  I used a low setting and just let the machine work.  I also used a spatula to take this off the mat.  The cuts are tiny but the results are awesome.

Another Cupcake Happy Birthday Card

Somebody is turning 7.  Tomorrow we are having a dual Easter and Birthday celebration.  I updated my scrapbooking stash with some new supplies.  One of my new supplies was a collection of Tattered Angels. I have never used Tattered Angels before.  I didn’t because I knew once I did I would be in love and I am.  On the cupcake top I sprayed blue card stock with Electric Blue and then hit is with Silver Sugar.  I wish I had a better picture but it really adds great dimension to the cupcake frosting.  So sparkly.

I put together a collection of supplies for you as well as the Cupcake file to download.  Find the file at the bottom of the post.
