Sweet Dreams Little Sheep by Guest Designer Mary
I have a guest designer. I am fortunate to have Mary Perterson working with a set of my SVG files. Mary is working with the Animal Barnyard collection. Mary used the sheep from the collection to make her first of hopefully many projects.
Mary tells me, “The star and moon paper, and the plaid paper is from Paper Studios. I used Recollections pink to create the flower border (a file I created) and Recollections yellow cardstock.
For the sheep, I did a print and cut for the face, using MTC and my Cougar. I cut out all the pieces in three different sizes. I wrapped the single body piece with Red Heart Buttercup white yarn to give the sheep some “wool”. I also used the yarn on the tail and the head.”
I can’t wait so see more from Mary.
Starry Night Advent Calendar
We still have a few days left till Christmas. You still have time to build this cute little Advent Calendar for you and the kids. This calendar focuses on the Birth of the Savior.
The point of this Advent Calendar is to add stars so that when Christmas Day comes you have a Starry Night. The Biggest star of the Night is saved for Christmas.
To build this calendar cut the files from your favorite paper, spray background and Stars with Tattered Angel for a little sparkle. Also be sure to chalk or ink your die cuts so they have a little dimension. I put the calendar in a spare 8X10 frame without the glass so the kids could add stars easily.
There are 25 stars in the cutting files. To make them peel and stick I cut foam with self adhesive backs to fit the stars. I attached the star to the foam with sticky dots. When it comes time to add another star remove of the adhesive backing from the foam and attach the star. Now your stars are stickers and ready to adhere without going back to the craft room. I also did this so I could give a few of these calendars away. Now each calendar is a kit and little fingers can learn the Christmas story by counting up to, instead of down to the Savior’s Birth.
I hope you enjoy this file. It is available in the Adams Acres Store.

Solution for MTC and SCAL user who still own a Cricut
Ok, I saw this post on facebook from Kristy Ache. I am not making any guarantees on this. I haven’t tried it myself. I am posting this link because I have had so many people asking me if there is a work around to use MTC and SCAL with your cricut. So this is the link to the blog that says you can make it happen.
The Crafty Blonde may have the solution for you.
Post comments if this lets you use your Cricut with the newer versions of MTC and SCAL.
A Lil Fishy
I have added a new design to the store at DieCutDesigners.com Meet “A Lil Fishy.” I have created this one for my niece. I have a series of onesies that are getting this lil fish painted across the front. I am cutting my stencil from freezer paper. Once you cut the stencil lightly iron the stencil to your fabric and paint. The freezer paper creates enough of a bond to hold the stencil down and prevent the paint from bleeding. You can get “A Lil Fish” from DieCutDesigners.com.

A Lil Fishy is found in SCAL, MTC, PDF, PNG and SVG format. I hope you enjoy using this lil fishy to make your own creations.
Woodland Bunny Layout

Log in on the left and scroll down to access the file.
The Woodland Bunny Collection is available at the DieCut Designer Store.
I am in love with this layout. I used the following elements to make this 2 page layout.
1. Die Cuts with A View. I used 2 papers from the Rustic Collection. I couldn’t find it online but I think Old World has many of the same colors and designs.
2. I used Pebbles Chalk basics to highlight all the die cut elements. If you don’t the pieces just sort of sit there on the page. When you chalk the edges in something a little darker they really pop off the page. I chalked the brown in black and the pink in a darker pink tone.
3. Ribbon. I attached ribbon to the photo sections so the photo could slide under the ribbon. The ribbon is only taped on the back of the photo area.
4. The buttons are attached to the ribbon so that the picture can slide in. The pictures are 4X6 and 3X5 sizes. The larger picture area has room for journaling.
5. The tree and the basket are sprayed with Glimmer Mist in Black Magic. The Glimmer Mist add a lot of texture to the basket and the tree. I swabbed the basket in a hatch pattern after spraying to give the basket a touch of weave.
The tree and the bunny are very neat and intricate. When you cut these elements as well as the butterfly be sure the blade is sharp and the pressure is significant enough to cut through the first time. I used a low setting and just let the machine work. I also used a spatula to take this off the mat. The cuts are tiny but the results are awesome.

Floppy Ear Bunny
What a crazy busy day and it is only half over. This morning I ran around and picked up the house. Because we are going to moving into the new one in a couple of months I haven’t been terribly motivated to try to organize. My only hope is to keep a path open and some degree of cleanliness in the kitchen and bathroom. From there I learned all about the Pawnee Indians on the 1st grade field trip. Fed the neighbor’s cat and made a mad dash back home to find strange men rummaging through our garage/storage shed. The men were here to dig our new well and were in much need of a hose with a good end. A good end you say, good luck I’m think in return. So back to one of the many shops I go to hunt down and hose with a good end. Then back home for a little computer work before I collect one set of kids, post this blog post and then back on the road to collect the other set of kids. From here I have one more meeting and Lent services. Whew!!!! In the mean time I put together this Floppy Ear Bunny for you. I look forward to seeing some of the crafts, cards and layouts you create with this friendly guy/gal.
I am cutting this guy using Sure Cuts a Log but you could use any of the other file formats to cut with an electronic cutter or cut by hand.
