    Starry Night Advent Calendar

We still have a few days left till Christmas.  You still have time to build this cute little Advent Calendar for you and the kids.  This calendar focuses on the Birth of the Savior. The point of this Advent Calendar is to add stars so that when Christmas Day comes you have a Starry Night.  The Biggest star of the Night is saved for Christmas. To build this calendar cut the files from your favorite paper, spray background and Stars with Tattered Angel for a little sparkle.  Also be sure to chalk or ink your die cuts so they have a little dimension.  I put the calendar in a spare 8X10 frame…

    Christmas Star Topper

I needed a little tree topper for my “Charlie Brownish” Christmas tree.  This is a little tree that fills a small area on my antique sewing machine.  I had no desire to go shopping for anything, least of all a small Christmas tree topper.  The wind is howling and I can tell you it is cold, cold, cold.  On top of that it is December 2nd and I am already feeling a little shopped out. So any whoo I snuck into my craft room to come up with a Christmas tree topper.  I saw a 3D star wreath somewhere (should have put in on my Pinterest.com board) where you take a…

Chirstmas Candle Holder with Tiled Background

Are you absolutely stuffed from the Holidays? I know I am. I hosted my first Thanksgiving in my new home this year.  Some people dread things like this but I have been looking forward to having friends and family wrapped around the table enjoy good company and of course good food. This year I cooked 2 turkeys.  I used a great recipe from the Down Home with the Neely’s cookbook.  It will be a recipe I use again and again.  The turkey was so most and the drippings made the amazing gravy, if I do say so myself. I think I have finally recovered from my 2 Thanksgiving day dinners,  my house is back in order.  Today I found time to get back…

    2010 Christmas Tags

Are all of your packages wrapped.  My are wrapped but until today they were not tagged.  Problem solved.  A file for the Cricut that make the job easy. I used card stock for most of the tag.  I did use the print feature on Sure Cuts a Lot to print the word on the tag but used the Cricut to bulk cut the tags. I also had the opportunity to use the Cri-Kits opaque gel pen in my Cricut to do the dashed line around the edges of the tag.  The dashed line is include in the SCAL file it may even translate into the Make the Cuts file.  If…

    Believe Word Art

Number 2 and I went out on the town to purchase a pair of pants for the upcoming holiday program.  After we successfully completed the mission we had lunch together.  The mall is a perfect place for us because we can both get what we want.  He grabbed a Subway and I had Chinese.  We finished off our meal by opening the fortune cookie.  My fortune on November 28th, “Tomorrow will be lucky and memorable for you.”  Well knowing that the hubby and I were going to be springing an early Christmas present on the entire family I already knew the next day was going to be memorable. My fortune…
