    Beach Scene Layout

During my mini spring break I worked on some scrapbooking pages from last summer.  I used a few vellum phrases that I had in my stash. To attach my vellum I cut a piece of card stock to back the phrase.  Next I cut the vellum phrase large enough to go around the card stock and secure it.  This way you never see the tape or adhesive lines. The beach scene was cut using SCAL and the Cricut.  I cut the scene out of white cardstock and used bic markers to color in the scene to match the paper.  I use the bic pens because they are the closest thing…

When In Doubt Look Up Card

I watched “Up,” with my littlest one yesterday.  What a great little movie.  If you haven’t seen it yet it is a real heart warmer.  Well up and a card challenge from SplitCoast Stampers inspired this today’s card.  When In Doubt Always Look UP. This months Split Coast Stamper Compassion card challenge is for the domestic violence shelter called Safe Harbor.  I can’t imagine the difficulties families that enter the shelter face.  I am sure they have doubts who they are, why they are here and why this has happened to them.  It is times like this that they need to have reassured faith that God’s Love is always with them.  Hopefully…

Sure Cuts a Lot New Scut2 File Extension

I just came across this the other day and wanted to share it with the Sure Cuts A Lot users. I downloaded the latest version of SCAL. I noticed that it now saves scal files as scut2. If you have the 2nd version of Sure Cuts a Lot be sure to get the update so that you can use the Scut2 files correctly. Hope this helps a few of you who have sent me questions about the scut2 file extension.

    Aleigh’s card

I hope she got this card in the mail last week before she sees it on facebook.  This card has some dimension made possible with Glue Dots.  I love the colors and the color blocking on the card.  Aleigh is quite the crafter and card maker herself.  I think she was sending homemade cards long before they were all the rage.

    Big B Baby Card

I know I am on the hot seat. I haven’t posted anything new in awhile. I have been hopping busy with summer kid activities, farming, camping and starting a new online media company. That has not left much time for poor ol adamsacres.com but I made some time today because I have purchased and downloaded the new version of Sure Cuts a Lot, which I might add is freaking awesome. Card of the day is for my cousin. They added a new baby boy to the family. I can’t wait to spend time with him since I sent all my babies are all in school full time now. Big B…

Black and White Mother’s Day Card

I hope you everyone had a happy Mother’s day.  I sure did.  My husband took me out for both supper and lunch.  The kids helped to pick out my Mother’s day presents.  I helped my own mom with some computer problems as ever good child should do. I created this card for my mother.  I hope she enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it. This card is so clean and simple.  I think that is why I like it so well.  I also like the Mother’s Day poem I found for the front to the card. The lattice and letters were cut using sure cuts a lot.

Golf Ball and Tee SVG for Sure Cuts a Lot

Card number 2 of my 5 card goal today.  My nephew is turning 9.  He loves to golf so what better than a  golf inspired birthday card.  Today I used a dingbat font.  I pulled the font out and modified it ink inkscape to create a svg file you can cut on Sure Cuts A Lot.  I left all the elements on one page so that you can color block your cricut mat and cut this in one run. If you have inkscape you can definitely alter the file and cut it in way, shape or form you desire. Golf ball and tee for sure cuts a lot

Sure Cuts A Lot: Dump Truck SVG

Be sure to enter the Scrapbook Giveaway!! I made this over sized card for my son’s friend.  He likes truck.  I created a pocket out of the box with brads so it could hold the cash gift.  I used doodle type stamps from close to my heart for the title.  You can download the Sure Cuts A Lot SVG.  It comes in a zip file. You will notice that I color coded the individuals SVG files.  You will also notice that each file has a star on it when you open it in Sure Cuts A Lot.  I use the star to maintain the size of all the images.  You…
