My Girl

I wanted a paper doll that had big ol bouffant blonde hair.  So I created this one using Inkscape.  This little girl has a custom face created by my daughter.  Everything is covered in glossy accents.  I like the shine it puts on my die cuts.

And happy birthday cheer!”

Simple Cross Confirmation Card

It is confirmation time here.  Our little church is proud to confirm 8 students. That is a lot considering this is one little town.  This is a huge accomplishment and shows some dedication.  In our church, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, it takes 4 years of Wednesday nights to study God’s word.  From there each student is required to memorize, memorize and memorize some more.  This year they are writing the answers to the questions required by our faith.  I personally think they are getting off easy.  I am kidding here because I wouldn’t want them to have to undergo the hours of randoming questioning by the congregation that I and my 2 colleagues went through when we were that age.  I think confirmation questioning is the reason people say “Sweating Bullets.”

1.  You can download this card in Scut 2 format.  Card

2.  The cross on the card is popped up using 3d Dots.

3.  The wording on the card is down by creating your on rub on with transparencies.

4.  The cross is covered in Glossy Accents to give it a little shimmer.

5.  I gave the card a little texture using the Swiss Dots Embossing folder and my Cuttlebug

Egg Shaped Bunny Basket With Video

I have playing with all these ideas for Easter.  Today I have an egg shaped basket for you.  These are great little favor baskets.  I will hopefully be filling mine for the kids at school.  The files are available to download.  The download includes a image so in case you don’t have an electronic cutter you can still print the template and make this basket.  (For Jill!)

For this project you will need

1.  Card stock.  Printed on both sides because you can see the interior of the basket and the handle. 12X12 preferably.  You can resize if you want your basket smaller.

2.  Bone Folder.  This helps make the creases to fold the basket easier.  If you don’t have one use the back of a butter knife.  Be sure not to use the serated edge.

3.  Straight edge or a ruler.

4.  Scissors.  ( from my cricut kit)

5.  Adhesive.  Something with a strong bond. Card stock is stiff.  It needs an adhesive that can handle the tension.  I used my Glue Glider Pro with the High Tac Cartridge.

Maya Road Resist Technique

Scrapbook.com is giving away Maya Road Resist with any $30 purchase.  The coupon code is: irriesitible.  I think this stuff makes the cutest embellishments.

Here is a video of how the product works in conjunction with Maya Road Mist Spray.  I am glad I found the video.  I really didn’t have an idea how to work with the mist products or relief until I watched the video.  This product can be used on any number of mediums so I can see it being not only a scrapbooking and card making embellishment product but great for crafters too.

Cool Cat Birthday Card

This is a little out of the norm for me.  I have been tempted to get into stamping but budget and space in the 84 X 72 in scrapbook and crafting room has been holding me back until now.  I have been playing with digital stamps.  At first I thought why in the world would anybody spend the time coloring in a digital stamp when you could just print clip art instead.  Well I have to say there is a big difference.  Maybe it is the time you put into yourself or the difference in the coloring but there is a definite difference.

I have purchased a few digital stamps.  They are by far cheaper than regular stamps and they require zero storage space other than what they take up on your hard drive.  The drawback I can see to digital stamps is you have to print them on a sheet of paper.  Depending on your printer you have to load a whole sheet versus just stamping on the size of paper you have.  I guess some of us will never be happy.

Here is one of my first digital stamp cards.  I couldn’t help but add a little SCAL and Cricut flare so the title is available as a SCUT2 as well. Cool Cat Title in SCUT2

I downloaded the digital stamp from Harbo Digital Stamps.  This was a freebie to get me started.  I colored this with Bic Markers
