This birthday card is no joke. I really love how this one turned out. I am pretty sure that this little golfer will show up on some bouquets and other
items I put together. This file has lots of pieces but that is not a problem when you open it in sure cuts a lot 2. The files are on multiple pages but I laid out the design so it can be color blocked to cut on one map. Make this guy anyway you like. What is fun is using the paper and colors to match the golfer you have in mind. The letters were stamped but the rest is all paper piecing. Enjoy.

Aleigh’s card
I hope she got this card in the mail last week before she sees it on facebook. This card has some dimension made possible with Glue Dots. I love the colors and the color blocking on the card. Aleigh is quite the crafter and card maker herself. I think she was sending homemade cards long before they were all the rage.
Birthday Box Cake
My Girlfriend has a BIG Birthday! A card wouldn’t due for such an occasion so I created this cake for her and filled it with chocolate. I got the call yesterday that the cake arrived. She was surprised and I really happy to find it in the mail box.

This was my first cake of many I hope to make. Along the way I learned a few tricks so that you can avoid some of my pitfalls.
1. Cut 10 boxes for each layer.
2. Score absolutely every line with a bone folder before you decorate or build any of the pieces.
3. When you decorate the cake think about the seam. To make it look pretty decorate so the seam will be on the bottom of the piece.
4. Decorate before you fold the pieces. Glue the flaps before you fold I used the Glue Glider to adhere the edges. The gun puts the adhesive exactly where you want it.
5. The boxes don’t necessarily stay shut especially if you build multiple tiers or fill them with heavier items. Think about using adhesive to close them.
6. If you are planning on shipping use ribbon to go all the way around the layers to keep them shut. I used zip ties because I shipped it. You could use ribbon if you plan on incorporating it into the design.
7. Adhere all the pieces together and the sides if you plan on transporting or shipping it.
All in all it went toghether very smoothly. Now that people have seen it I know that I will be making many more for family and friends.
Grandma Eickhoff’s 91st Birthday Bouquet
This is my Grandma Eickhoff’s 91st birthday bouquet. She loves to share candy with everyone so this is a great gift for her. The bouquet stems are covered with candy that people can snatch off.
The designs were made with Sure Cuts a Lot 2. There are a lot of elements in the file including: birds, butterflies, lots of flowers and the titles. I accented some of the elements with buttons as well as Stickles. I don’t think this file download will work with Sure Cuts a Lot 1 because there are a lot of pages. I hope you enjoy using all the elements. The butterfly is by far my favorite.

This is a project I did for my Grandmother’s 91st birthday. All the stems have candy hot glued to them. Sure Cuts a Lot 2 Trace Image Tutorial
We all want to have custom images to cut. That is the biggest bonus of Sure Cuts a Lot software. If you are working with simple clean lined images you can now trace those images in Sure Cuts a Lot 2 instead of using a third party software like inkscape. I created a quick tutorial to show you how easy it is to create a custom image with the trace tool. I also show you how you can manipulate that images by breaking it apart and only cutting the parts that you want. There are additional sure cuts a lot tutorials here.
Sure Cuts a Lot 2 Makes Welding and Working with Fonts so Much Easier
I was working on some welding with Sure Cuts a Lot II and I could not believe how much easier it is to weld lots of letters together quickly. No more moving each letter around it is awesome.
