Black and White Mother’s Day Card

Black and White Mother's Day card
I hope you everyone had a happy Mother’s day. I sure did. My husband took me out for both supper and lunch. The kids helped to pick out my Mother’s day presents. I helped my own mom with some computer problems as ever good child should do.
I created this card for my mother. I hope she enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.
This card is so clean and simple. I think that is why I like it so well. I also like the Mother’s Day poem I found for the front to the card.
The lattice and letters were cut using sure cuts a lot.
Great Mom Book With Sure Cuts a Lot
I found this gorgeous mom book Shanney made with sure cuts a lot software and the cricut. I love the soft colors and the ribbon embellishments. Good job Shanney any mom would be happy to see this on mothers day.
Golf Ball and Tee SVG for Sure Cuts a Lot
Card number 2 of my 5 card goal today. My nephew is turning 9. He loves to golf so what better than a golf inspired birthday card. Today I used a dingbat font. I pulled the font out and modified it ink inkscape to create a svg file you can cut on Sure Cuts A Lot. I left all the elements on one page so that you can color block your cricut mat and cut this in one run.
If you have inkscape you can definitely alter the file and cut it in way, shape or form you desire.
Graduation Card: Sure Cuts A Lot Die Cut

Sure Cuts A Lot Graduation Card
I have a LOT of cards to make today. My goal is to get 2 Mother’s Day cards, 1 Graduation Card, 1 Birthday card, 1 Sympathy card and possibly one more graduation card all done today. I know people can whip these out in no time but I have to think about it. Review other sites for ideas and then still ponder over them. My husband says I am nutz but we are all a little nutz when it comes to the things that we really like to do.
Her is the first of the days goals. This is a high school graduation card for my nephew. Every time one of my nieces or nephews graduates it gives me a bit of a queasy feeling in my stomach. I am happy for them but can see my own children’s graduations quickly approaching and I am no where near ready for those days to come.
I used patterned paper, created the die cut with sure cuts a lot and the cricut. The tassel is embellished with stickles. The background has been inked with close to my heart ink and dabber.
Crop for a Cure Results
Cancer is a disease that has effected just about everyone in one form another. I have personally lost one Grandmother to breast cancer while the other has survived and is doing well after a mastectomy. I am very fortunate we are making leaps and bound in the treatment of cancer especially breast cancer. For all the advances we still have huge mountains to climb.
Whenever there is a benefit that raises money for cancer research I am on board. When you combine a benefit with a crop it is a complete no brainer. I spent the day with my sister-in-law and friends working on lots of pages and being inspired by the creativity that filed the tiny little community center in Boelus, Nebraska.
Boelus is a tiny little town in rural Nebraska with a population just north of 200 people. The claim to fame is the Gold Nugget bar and restaurant formerly known as the Golden Nugget before the restaurant was sent a letter about copyright infringement or some foolish thing by the “Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. LOL!!!!
Anyway the tiny little town hosted a cancer benefit that raised over $1600 in 2008. Jenny, the coordinator for this event was hoping to at least match her last years numbers. Instead that goal was crushed. The crop raised ober $2200. Thank you Jenny for working so hard on this event. I had a great time and I am so proud to be a part of event that is working to help fund a cure for cancer.
Sure Cuts A Lot: Dump Truck SVG
Be sure to enter the Scrapbook Giveaway!!
I made this over sized card for my son’s friend. He likes truck. I created a pocket out of the box with brads so it could hold the cash gift. I used doodle type stamps from close to my heart for the title. You can download the Sure Cuts A Lot SVG. It comes in a zip file.
You will notice that I color coded the individuals SVG files. You will also notice that each file has a star on it when you open it in Sure Cuts A Lot. I use the star to maintain the size of all the images. You open one file, before you close the other. Then resize the file until the stars match up. This way you maintain the proportion of all the files.

I was looking for a tutorial for Smooch Ink and came across this tutorial by Suzanne Dean. Suzanne has created some beautiful card designs. As you will see in the video Smooch Ink adds just a little extra glimmer to your paper crafts. It can also be applied to metal and wood products.
